  • Run 1.5T MRI scans for neuro, spine and musculoskeletal cases with complete MRI safety screening for every patient.
  • Wear and track TLD badges and maintain daily QA phantom logs; the department cleared AERB and NABH inspections without observations.

Radiology Technician, Kovalam Diagnostic and Imaging Centre, Thiruvananthapuram

List modalities and equipment precisely

Imaging managers hire radiology technicians for specific modalities, so state exactly what you can run on your own: digital X-ray, CR, portable X-ray, C-arm in OT, mammography, CT (with the slice count), MRI (with field strength, such as 1.5T or 3T), DEXA or cath lab. Mention whether you only assist or can independently select protocols, position patients and post-process images.

Put your strongest modality in the job title, for example "Radiology Technologist (CT and MRI)". Recruiters on Naukri and hospital portals search for these exact words, and a generic "X-ray technician" title can hide valuable CT or MRI experience.

Radiation safety and AERB compliance on a radiology technician resume

Radiation safety is a regulatory requirement, not a soft skill. Show that you follow AERB requirements and ALARA principles: personal TLD monitoring, lead aprons and shielding, pregnancy screening, controlled-area rules and daily QA. If you have been trained as or worked alongside a Radiological Safety Officer, mention it.

For MRI, add safety screening for implants and metal, zone control and handling of claustrophobic or sedated patients. For CT, mention contrast reaction awareness and dose-optimised protocols. Hospitals preparing for NABH or AERB inspections value technicians who keep these records without reminders.

Patient care belongs here too. Explaining the procedure, checking identity and the correct body part, screening for pregnancy and kidney function before contrast, and monitoring patients after injection are all safety steps worth one clear bullet on your resume.

Turning scan volumes into achievements

Show workload and quality, not duties:

  • Weak: Taking X-rays and CT scans of patients.
  • Strong: Perform 35–45 CT scans a shift on a 128-slice scanner, including CT angiography and stroke protocols.
  • Strong: Cut repeat scans from 4.2% to 1.8% by standardising positioning across the team.

Freshers with a B.Sc or diploma in radiology and imaging technology should list internship postings by modality and the approximate number of studies handled. Mention PACS, RIS and DICOM worklist experience, since digital workflow errors cause real reporting delays. Also note readiness for night and emergency shifts, which hospitals hiring CT technologists often need.

Format and template for healthcare resumes

Hospital HR teams, diagnostic chains and pharma recruiters check eligibility before anything else, so make it easy to find. Put your registration details in the header or a short "Registration and licences" line: council name, registration number and validity, for example State Nursing Council, NMC or State Medical Council, State Pharmacy Council, Dental Council or RCI. Add life-support and safety credentials such as BLS, ACLS, PALS or AERB radiation-safety training with the year they were completed or renewed.

Use a clean one- or two-page layout with standard headings: Summary, Registration, Clinical Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications. Name the department, bed strength or setting (ICU, OPD, casualty, NABL lab, GMP plant) for every job. Leave out patient names and any identifiable case details. A photo is common for hospital roles in India but optional; date of birth and marital status are not needed. For wording help, see how to write resume experience.
