What airline recruiters look for in a cabin crew resume

Airlines hire cabin crew for safety first and service second. Your resume should show that you can follow procedures under pressure, look after passengers calmly and represent the airline's brand. Recruiters scan for flying experience, aircraft types, safety training, languages and grooming.

A professional photo is standard for cabin crew applications in India and the Gulf, and most airlines ask for full-length and passport-size photos in the application form as well. Use a recent photo in business attire with neat hair and natural make-up. Height, weight and medical details are usually collected in the airline's form; add them to the resume only if the advertisement asks.

Turning flights into cabin crew achievements

Experienced crew often list duties every airline already knows, such as "performed safety demonstrations". Keep duties short and add evidence of reliability and service:

  • Total flying hours and aircraft types (A320, B737, ATR, A321neo).
  • Recurrent SEP and first aid checks passed.
  • Medical or security incidents handled correctly.
  • Passenger compliments, awards and onboard sales results.
  • Senior crew or in-charge responsibilities.

Do not reveal confidential incident details; describe the situation in one line and your role in it. If you have trained in fire-fighting, ditching or dangerous goods awareness, include it under certifications with the year. Crew moving from a low-cost carrier to a full-service airline should also highlight premium cabin or meal service experience.

Cabin crew resume tips for freshers

Most airlines hire freshers who have completed Class XII or graduation, have good spoken English and Hindi and meet the airline's physical and medical standards. If you have no flying experience, highlight customer-facing work in hotels, retail, events or hospitality, and any aviation or hospitality diploma.

List languages honestly, because foreign languages such as Arabic, French or Japanese can make a difference on international routes. Mention swimming ability, first aid training and comfort with irregular hours and relocation. Keep the resume to one page with a clear photo, and use our modern templates if you want a layout that leaves room for a photo.

Format and template for hospitality and retail resumes

Hospitality and retail recruiters read quickly, often on a phone between shifts, so a clean one-page layout with clear headings works best. Put your current role, property or store type and years of experience at the top, followed by measurable results such as guest scores, upselling, sales targets or audit ratings.

A professional photo is normal and often expected for guest-facing roles such as cabin crew, front office, guest relations and some luxury retail jobs. Use a recent, well-lit photo in grooming standards similar to the job. For back-office, BPO and kitchen roles, a photo is optional.

List languages with honest levels, because Hindi, English and a regional or foreign language are real advantages with tourists and customers. Mention shift flexibility, night shifts or readiness to relocate in your summary if it is true. For bullet ideas, see our guide on writing resume experience.
