Separate .NET Framework and modern .NET experience

Recruiters hiring .NET developers in India often need to know whether you can work on modern .NET (6, 8 or later) or mainly on older .NET Framework and Web Forms applications. Both are valuable, because many enterprises still run legacy systems, but be clear about which versions you know. A summary such as ".NET developer with 7 years in ASP.NET Core Web APIs and .NET Framework migrations" answers the question immediately.

Mention your front-end pairing as well. Many .NET jobs are really ".NET + Angular" or ".NET + React" full stack roles, and recruiters search for those combinations. If you have worked on Azure, list the specific services rather than just "Azure".

.NET achievements for senior and lead roles

After five or six years, your resume should show design and ownership, not just module development. Good .NET bullets cover migrations, performance, reliability and team leadership.

If you lead a team, state its size and what you own: estimates, code reviews, architecture decisions or client calls. GCCs and product companies also value domain knowledge such as healthcare HL7, insurance or logistics.

Microsoft certifications and skills to list

Microsoft certifications are recognised by Indian employers, particularly in IT services, where clients often ask for certified staff. AZ-204 (Azure Developer Associate) suits most .NET developers; AZ-900 is fine for beginners but carries less weight on an experienced profile. Add the month and year so recruiters know it is current.

Group your skills as Languages (C#, SQL, TypeScript), Frameworks (ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, Blazor if used), Databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL), Cloud and DevOps (App Service, Functions, Service Bus, Azure DevOps) and Testing (xUnit, NUnit, Moq). Leave out outdated technologies such as Silverlight unless a job asks for them. Freshers should show one ASP.NET Core project with authentication and a SQL database, explained clearly in the project section.

Format and template for IT resumes

Most IT applications in India go through Naukri, LinkedIn, company career portals or a vendor's applicant tracking system before a human reads them. Use a clean, single-column or light two-column layout with standard headings such as Summary, Skills, Experience, Projects, Education and Certifications, so the parser can read every section.

Keep the resume to one page if you have under four years of experience and two pages after that. Put your tech stack near the top, but group it (Languages, Frameworks, Databases, Cloud and Tools) instead of listing thirty logos. Add your GitHub, portfolio or LinkedIn link only if it is up to date. Leave out photo, date of birth, marital status and a declaration unless an employer specifically asks for them.
