Use support metrics in your customer service executive resume
Customer service teams are measured every day, so recruiters expect to see your numbers. The common ones are CSAT (customer satisfaction), FCR (first contact resolution), AHT (average handling time), quality audit scores and SLA adherence. Put two or three of them in your summary and bullets, along with the team target, so the reader can see you beat it.
"Maintained 94% CSAT against a 90% target for 5 quarters" is much stronger than "provided excellent customer service". Also mention volume, such as contacts per shift, because handling 80 chats a day is different from 20 detailed emails. If you handle two or three chats at the same time, say so.
Show the channels, tools and domain you support
Customer service executive jobs on Naukri are often filtered by channel (voice, chat, email, social media) and domain (e-commerce, banking, fintech, telecom, travel, EdTech). State both clearly in your title or summary, for example "chat and email support for e-commerce".
List the ticketing and CRM tools you use, such as Freshdesk, Zendesk, Salesforce Service Cloud or an in-house CRM. Domain knowledge also matters:
- Fintech and banking: KYC, UPI failures, chargebacks, RBI-aligned verification.
- E-commerce: returns, refunds, courier tracking, seller issues.
- Telecom: plan changes, number porting, billing disputes.
If you improved a process, such as writing macros, FAQ articles or a better escalation flow, include it, because it shows you can grow into a team lead or quality role.
Customer service resumes for freshers and team lead aspirants
Freshers can show customer service potential through internships, part-time retail or call centre work, college helpdesk roles or volunteering. Mention typing speed if it is good (for example 40 words per minute), your English and regional language levels and comfort with rotational shifts. A clean one-page resume with a short summary is enough.
Experienced executives aiming for senior or team lead positions should show mentoring, quality audits, escalation handling and reports prepared for managers. Keep the language simple and error-free, because recruiters treat your resume as a writing sample for email and chat roles. Avoid long lists of soft skills; prove them with metrics instead.
Format and template for hospitality and retail resumes
Hospitality and retail recruiters read quickly, often on a phone between shifts, so a clean one-page layout with clear headings works best. Put your current role, property or store type and years of experience at the top, followed by measurable results such as guest scores, upselling, sales targets or audit ratings.
A professional photo is normal and often expected for guest-facing roles such as cabin crew, front office, guest relations and some luxury retail jobs. Use a recent, well-lit photo in grooming standards similar to the job. For back-office, BPO and kitchen roles, a photo is optional.
List languages with honest levels, because Hindi, English and a regional or foreign language are real advantages with tourists and customers. Mention shift flexibility, night shifts or readiness to relocate in your summary if it is true. For bullet ideas, see our guide on writing resume experience.
