Put your driving licence details first

For any driver job, the licence decides whether you are even considered. Write the licence classes clearly near the top, such as "LMV + HMV with badge", and the year it was first issued, because many transport companies and Gulf agencies ask for a minimum number of years of heavy licence. Keep the licence valid and renewed; an expired licence means immediate rejection.

Then list the vehicles you have driven: hatchbacks and SUVs, staff buses, 6, 10 or 12-wheel trucks, trailers, tankers or tippers. A company hiring a trailer driver does not want to guess whether you have handled one. If you hold hazardous goods training under CMVR Rule 9, add it, because tanker and chemical transport jobs require it.

Prove you are a safe and reliable driver

Employers worry about accidents, fines, fuel and late deliveries. Answer those worries with facts.

  • Weak: "Good driver with experience."
  • Strong: "Zero at-fault accidents and zero challans in 4 years on long-haul routes."
  • Strong: "Improved mileage from 3.4 to 3.9 km per litre, tracked on company GPS."

Mention total kilometres driven, main routes and states covered, night or hill driving and on-time percentages if you drive staff buses or company cars. Add basic tasks you handle yourself, such as pre-trip checks, tyre changes and trip documents like e-way bills and LR copies. These show you can manage a trip without constant calls to the office.

Driver resumes for corporate and Gulf jobs

Corporate car and executive driver roles value punctuality, discretion, clean grooming and knowledge of city routes. Mention years with one employer, since long service builds trust. Basic English or the local language also helps.

Gulf countries hire many Indian drivers, but you usually need to pass a local driving test there. Your Indian licence and years of heavy driving decide whether the agency sponsors you, so state them clearly; an International Driving Permit from your RTO can also help for short visits. Add passport details and ECR/ECNR status only when the agency asks. Keep the resume to one page with simple headings and no long objective.

Format and template for technician resumes

Technician and trade hiring in India is usually handled by plant HR teams, contractors, manpower consultants and Gulf recruitment agencies who look at hundreds of resumes for one opening. A simple one-page layout with clear headings works best: Summary, Trade and Licences, Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications. Put your ITI trade (NCVT or SCVT), diploma, apprenticeship and any licence near the top, with the licence class and validity, because many employers shortlist on these details alone.

Name the machines, tools, vehicles or equipment you have handled, and list safety training such as first aid, fire safety, working at height or lockout-tagout. Add passport number, expiry date and ECR/ECNR status only when you apply for Gulf or overseas jobs and the agency asks for it; leave it off resumes for Indian employers. Skip the photo unless it is requested. For the basic structure, see how to make a resume.
