Show your repair level, not just "mobile repairing"

Service centres grade technicians by level. Level 1 usually means part replacement such as screens, batteries and ports; level 2 or level 3 means board-level and IC-level repairs with a microscope and hot-air station. Say clearly where you are, because it decides the role and pay you are offered.

List the faults you fix (charging, power, network, audio, camera, display) and the brands or platforms you know well, such as Android phones and iPhones. Name your tools in one line: microscope, hot-air station, soldering station, DC power supply, multimeter and board-view or schematic software. Hiring managers often give a practical test, so list only what you can do in front of them.

Mobile repair technician achievements with numbers

Repair shops and service centres track repairs per day, first-time fix rate, repeat repairs and customer ratings. Use these instead of vague lines.

  • Weak: "Repaired mobiles of customers."
  • Strong: "Repair 12 to 15 phones a day with a 92% first-time fix rate."
  • Strong: "Repeat-repair rate below 3% over 12 months."

If you managed spare parts, handled the counter or trained juniors, add a bullet; these show you can run a small shop or a service desk. Mention ESD safety and how you protect customer data, because trust is a big concern for people handing over their phones. If you have worked at a brand service centre, say so, since its processes and job sheets are familiar to other centres.

Training and what to leave off the resume

An ITI Electronics Mechanic certificate, a diploma in electronics or a skill council certificate for mobile hardware repair all help you get past the first screening. Short private courses are fine to mention, but describe what you learnt rather than only the institute name.

Do not list services such as IMEI changing, bypassing locks on phones that are not the customer's, or unofficial unlocking. These can be illegal in India and immediately put off brand service centres. Write "authorised firmware updates" instead of "flashing all phones". Freshers should describe practical training, the number of phones repaired during training and any shop internship, and keep everything on one page.

Format and template for technician resumes

Technician and trade hiring in India is usually handled by plant HR teams, contractors, manpower consultants and Gulf recruitment agencies who look at hundreds of resumes for one opening. A simple one-page layout with clear headings works best: Summary, Trade and Licences, Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications. Put your ITI trade (NCVT or SCVT), diploma, apprenticeship and any licence near the top, with the licence class and validity, because many employers shortlist on these details alone.

Name the machines, tools, vehicles or equipment you have handled, and list safety training such as first aid, fire safety, working at height or lockout-tagout. Add passport number, expiry date and ECR/ECNR status only when you apply for Gulf or overseas jobs and the agency asks for it; leave it off resumes for Indian employers. Skip the photo unless it is requested. For the basic structure, see how to make a resume.

Frequently asked questions

An ITI Electronics Mechanic or diploma in electronics is useful, and a skill council certificate in mobile hardware repair adds weight. Practical skill is still tested, so be ready for a repair test.
Mention it as "basic micro-soldering and charging IC repair under supervision" if that is your level. Overstating skills usually shows up in the practical test.
One page is enough. Include your repair level, faults handled, tools, numbers such as repairs per day and your training.
