Real estate sales numbers developers look for
Developers and brokerages hiring real estate sales executives look for closures, not just enquiries. Lead your resume with units sold, sales value in ₹ crore and target achievement for each year. Add the type of inventory you sell: affordable housing, mid-segment apartments, luxury villas, plots or commercial spaces, because selling a ₹45 lakh flat is a different skill from selling a ₹4 crore penthouse.
Show your funnel as well: enquiries handled, site visits conducted and site-visit-to-booking conversion. "Improved conversion from 9% to 14%" shows you understand buyer qualification. If most of your bookings came through brokers, mention how many channel partners you manage and their share of sales.
Show you can guide buyers from visit to registration
Indian homebuyers need help well beyond the sales pitch. Employers value executives who handle the whole journey: site visit, price negotiation, booking amount, home loan sanction, agreement for sale, RERA disclosures and registration.
- Weak: "Explained projects to clients."
- Strong: "Coordinated with 4 partner banks for home loan sanctions and guided buyers through RERA and registration paperwork."
Mention your local market knowledge: the micro-markets, upcoming infrastructure and price trends you can discuss confidently. Recruiters for projects in Pune, Gurugram, Noida, Hyderabad or the Chandigarh tricity often prefer candidates who already know the area and its buyers.
Tips for freshers and switchers entering real estate sales
Many people enter real estate sales from telecalling, retail, hospitality or banking. If you are one of them, highlight face-to-face selling, high-value transactions, loan processing knowledge or customer service experience. Hotel and airline staff often do well because of their presentation and client-handling skills.
Freshers should mention a driving licence, weekend availability (most site visits happen on Saturdays and Sundays) and the languages they speak. Add any certificate or training on real estate laws or RERA only if it is genuine.
Avoid listing every project name you have ever pitched. Pick the most relevant ones and focus on what you sold and how. If you have handled NRI buyers, corporate bulk deals or commercial leasing, add a short line, because these clients need extra trust and paperwork skills that developers pay a premium for.
Format and template for sales and marketing resumes
Sales and marketing hiring managers in India decide in seconds whether you can deliver numbers, so your format should push results to the surface. Start with a three-line summary that states your years of experience, the industry you sell or market in (FMCG, SaaS, real estate, BFSI, D2C) and one headline achievement. Follow it with Experience, Skills, Education and Certifications under standard headings so Naukri and company ATS software can read them.
For sales roles, every job should show target versus achievement, revenue in ₹ lakh or crore, territory size and the number of dealers, distributors or accounts you handled. For marketing and content roles, show campaign results, budgets, traffic or lead numbers, and add one portfolio or LinkedIn link instead of attaching samples. Keep it to one page under five years of experience and two pages after that. See how numbers are presented in our digital marketing resume example and check the ATS-friendly resume guide before you apply.
