Framing a supply chain manager summary for FMCG and pharma

Supply chain manager openings in India are usually tied to an industry: FMCG, pharma, consumer durables, e-commerce or auto. Recruiters want to know quickly which part of the chain you own (planning, procurement, manufacturing supply, distribution or the full end-to-end role) and at what scale. Put your years, sector, SKU count or network size and one headline result in the summary.

For example: "Supply chain manager with 9 years in FMCG, running S&OP for 380 SKUs across 22 depots." Avoid vague claims like "expert in end-to-end supply chain" without proof. Also mention the channels you serve, such as general trade, modern trade, quick commerce or exports, because each has different service levels, order patterns and inventory rules.

Numbers that prove supply chain impact

Senior supply chain resumes are judged on a small set of KPIs. Pick the ones you influenced and show the movement:

  • Forecast accuracy or bias (for example, 61% to 78%).
  • Inventory in days of cover or ₹ value released.
  • Case fill rate, OTIF or stock-outs at depots.
  • Freight cost per case, per km or as a percentage of sales.
  • Expiry and damage write-offs.

Write the method in the same bullet: SAP IBP rollout, rail shift, network redesign, safety-stock policy, or C&F consolidation. Interviewers will ask how you got the result, so keep it accurate and be ready to explain the numbers.

Tools, certifications and the move into management

List the planning and ERP tools you actually use: SAP IBP or APO, SAP MM/SD, Oracle, Kinaxis, o9 or Blue Yonder, plus Power BI and advanced Excel. Mention GST-era network decisions (such as consolidating warehouses into fewer hubs) if you worked on them, because many Indian companies redesigned their depots after 2017.

Certifications such as ASCM CSCP or CPIM are respected by multinational and GCC employers. If you are a planner or analyst aiming for a manager role, show cross-functional work: chairing S&OP meetings, leading a 3PL transition or managing a team of planners. Our resume skills guide explains how to separate tools from core skills.

Format and template for operations resumes

Operations and supply chain hiring in India is driven by numbers: on-time dispatch, inventory accuracy, cost per shipment, fill rate, OTIF and audit scores. Use a clean single-column layout with standard headings (Summary, Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications) so Naukri, LinkedIn and company ATS tools can parse it, and let each experience bullet carry at least one measurable result.

Name the systems you actually use, such as SAP MM, SAP WM or EWM, Oracle, Tally Prime, a WMS or TMS, and Excel with pivot tables. Mention the scale of your work: number of SKUs, warehouse area in sq ft, monthly purchase value, fleet size or containers handled. One page works up to about five years of experience; managers can use two. Skip photo, date of birth and declaration unless the employer asks. See our guide on writing resume experience for help turning daily duties into results.

Frequently asked questions

A supply chain manager resume should show planning, inventory and cross-functional decisions such as S&OP, while a logistics resume focuses on transport, warehousing and delivery performance. Many Indian roles overlap, so read the job description and lead with the matching side.
Yes, CSCP and CPIM are recognised by MNCs, GCCs and large Indian FMCG and pharma companies. They help most when combined with clear results from your own planning or distribution work.
Mention modules and processes such as SAP MM, SD or IBP rather than a long list of T-codes. A few codes can be added for analyst roles, but managers are judged more on outcomes than transactions.
