Put B.Ed and CTET Paper II at the top of a TGT resume

For a Trained Graduate Teacher (TGT) post, eligibility is checked before anything else. KVS and NVS generally ask for a graduation in the relevant subject combination with minimum marks, a B.Ed and CTET Paper II, while state recruitment usually accepts the state TET. Many CBSE private schools also prefer CTET-qualified teachers.

Write your TGT subject in the title ("TGT Mathematics", not just "Teacher"), and add a short Eligibility line in the summary or a separate section: B.Ed with year, CTET Paper II with subject stream and year, and any state TET such as REET, HTET or UPTET. Show graduation subjects clearly, because subject combination decides eligibility for subjects like Science or Social Studies.

Classroom results that impress school principals

Principals want evidence that students learn better in your class. Use numbers wherever possible:

• Weak: "Taught Maths to middle and secondary classes."
• Strong: "Raised Class X Maths average from 68% to 76% over 2 board batches with weekly tests and remedial classes."

Mention the classes and sections you handle, the number of students, class-teacher duties, CBSE board result contributions, Olympiad or science fair guidance, lab or activity corners you set up, and in-service training such as CBSE capacity-building programmes or DIKSHA courses. Teaching aids like GeoGebra, smart-class software and Google Classroom are worth listing, but only if you use them regularly.

KVS, NVS and private school applications

KVS and NVS recruitment runs through an online form, a written exam and an interview or document verification. Your CV matters most at the interview and for contractual or part-time teacher posts, which are often filled through walk-in interviews at the school. Carry a printed CV along with originals and self-attested copies of mark sheets, B.Ed, CTET and experience certificates, and check that every date matches.

Format for government and PSU job resumes

Government offices, PSUs, research institutes and NGOs running public projects still prefer a formal, single-column CV with plain headings: Personal Details, Educational Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Declaration. Many advertisements ask for details that private employers do not, such as date of birth, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) or father's name. Add these only when the advertisement or prescribed format asks for them, and attach a category certificate only if it is requested.

Make sure every date, percentage and name on your CV matches the online application form and your certificates exactly, because scrutiny committees reject mismatches. Keep self-attested copies of mark sheets, experience letters and certificates ready in the order they appear on the CV. If the advertisement asks for a declaration, end with a short signed statement that the information is true, with place and date.
