What schools want from a computer teacher resume

Computer teacher roles in Indian schools vary widely. A primary computer teacher teaches MS Paint, typing and Scratch, while a PGT Computer Science prepares Class XII students for Python and SQL board papers. Make your level clear in the first line: classes taught, board, and the subjects you handle, such as Computer Science, Informatics Practices, Computer Applications (ICSE) or the CBSE Artificial Intelligence skill subject.

Principals also want to know whether you can run the lab. If you handle systems, licences, internet filters, student accounts or coordinate with the IT vendor, say so. That responsibility often decides between two equally qualified candidates.

Show coding clubs, projects and board practicals

Generic bullets such as "taught computers to students" waste space. Show the programmes you started and what students achieved.

Board results matter for senior classes, so add the Class XII Computer Science or IP average if you taught the batch. Also mention the Class XII project and practical exam work you guide, since CBSE gives significant marks for it. Teacher training is a strong extra: many computer teachers become the school's go-to person for smart boards and online tools.

Qualifications and tech skills for computer teachers

For PGT Computer Science, schools usually ask for an MCA, M.Sc. Computer Science, B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or equivalent, often with B.Ed. Many private schools hire computer teachers without B.Ed. but prefer it, so list it if you have it. Add CTET or your state TET only when the vacancy is for middle classes.
